Reporting to the Director Department Strategy, the Department Data and Analytics Manager will assist the Community Services Department to design, implement and continuously improve department level processes and practices related to data and analytics management, in collaboration with the Service Innovation and Performance Branch.

The Data and Analytics Manager’s primary focus will be to manage, lead, and develop data driven solutions for complex social and community focused projects and initiatives. The position is responsible for empowering and enabling stakeholders to leverage credible business intelligence to make evidence based decisions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain, develop and promote effective relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders to support the goals of the Department and corporation.
  • Lead, establish and exemplify the desired culture throughout the work group, that supports the Community Services Vision, Mission and Commitments, as well as the Corporate Leadership Competencies
  • Lead the coordination of analytics, department level reporting, governance and data management
  • Act as an advanced technical expert and senior level resource for the Department
  • Conduct business-specific research, business intelligence and analytics in accordance with corporate policies and standards
  • Proactively create opportunities to link analytics efforts with the corporate and departmental enterprise performance management frameworks
  • Connect analytics and business intelligence to business strategy and risk mitigation
  • Develop and implement staff performance development and management plans
  • Develop and deliver annual work plans for the unit outlining scope, schedule, resource plan and budget
  • Implementation of the Corporate Data Strategy, data governance and analytics framework and business development processes and initiatives
Qualifications :
  • University degree or a college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience including a minimum of 4 years of experience with emphasis on business intelligence and 4 years of experience in supervision is required.
  • Project management skills with demonstrated ability to establish, direct and motivate staff to deliver work in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated experience advising multiple stakeholders on initiatives, with the ability to interpret and understand data and translate it into actions, strategies and priorities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data ethics policies, strategies and practical application.
  • Advanced knowledge of Bl and analytics tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, AppSheet and SAP Analytics
  • Advanced knowledge of processes used by business analysts to identify requirements for reporting and analytics
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development cycle and methodologies

Salary: $85,443.043 - $$122,061.490 (Annual)
