Our client, a well-established and prestigious law firm, is looking for aCorporate Legal Assistantto join their team in Saskatoon.

In this role, you will:

  • Correspond with law firms across Canada and the United States; receiving instructions relating to extra-provincially registered corporations.
  • Ensure that Saskatchewan requirements are maintained during opening of file, registration of corporations and business names and amendments.
  • Manage accounts receivable, render client accounts and perform regular account maintenance tasks.
  • Create and accurately proofread legal documents, using business vocabulary and specialized legal terminology.
  • Effectively and tactfully communicate with clients, lawyers and staff in diverse situations.
  • Participate in special projects undertaken by the corporate department, including coordinating the projects, research, scheduling, follow-up and production of final reports/results.
  • Provide administrative support to the team by coordinating travel arrangements and meetings, responding to client inquiries, resolving scheduling conflicts, and redirecting faxes and mail.
  • Actively contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the corporate legal department, including carrying out any additional responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Education:

  • Grade 12.
  • Office Education Certificate or Legal Diploma is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of legal experience, ideally within the corporate law area.
  • Knowledge of legal policies and procedures and legal terminology is required.
  • Experience in Corporate Registry would be an asset.

Computer:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Experience using in-house computer software programs.
