The opportunity:

The Commercial Placement Specialistwill play a vital role in helping our Commercial Insurance teams with the successful placement of commercial business.
In this role you will:
  • Analyze submissions to ensure all information is included to obtain a fast and accurate quote
  • Provide clear, concise, and descriptive narrative as it relates to the submission including a summary of account and coverage being requested
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of current market/carrier appetites and approximate rate expectations
  • Maintain Prepare and review analysis of proposed terms from Underwriters to be provided to Account Executives
  • Provide Account Executives with premium comparisons, proposals, terms and binders
  • Review wordings when required
  • Collect and prepare quarterly volume reports from insurers
  • Attend industry events
  • Participate in presentations when required
  • Negotiate policy terms and premiums with Underwriters
  • Manage workflow within Marketing department
  • Tracking sheet of submissions on a rotation basis
  • Support less experienced Commercial team members and explain the submission process
  • Work continuously to build relationships with Carriers

Here’s what you bring:
  • Level 2 License required
  • 5+ years Commercial insurance experience (sales, account manager or marketer role)
  • Understanding of London markets and in-house authorities
  • Ability to work with Account Managers/Executives to strategize on accounts
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Transportation, Oil & Gas, and Environmental accounts an asset
  • Experience with accounts in excess of $500K annual premium an asset
