    Job Description

    This individual will be responsible and accountable to lead the commercial sales and marketing team with a focus on execution for GSK’s immunology asset Benlysta. The successful candidate will lead and partner closely with the specialty care cross functional team to ensure excellence in deployment of strategic plans & commercial tactical implementation. The Commercial lead will work under the supervision of the Specialty Care Business Unit Head.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Directly manage national sales representative team and product manager for Benlysta
    • Develop local commercial strategic and operational launch/brand plans with a focus on execution of existing and upcoming indications in lupus including key performance indicator development and measurement
    • Effectively engage with the Global franchise team and other key markets to leverage experience, materials and adapt to Canadian market for successful implementation.
    • Lead performance & strategic reviews with local country and above country leadership.
    • Lead and manage sales team to sell Benlysta to all customers according to the strategy and direction.
    • Develop business plan and implement national business strategies to meet performance objectives.
    • Recruit, hire and retain qualified sales representatives. Prepare all required paperwork and administrative procedures to support hiring and assessment activities.
    • Develop, track and monitor financial forecasts and supply
    • Gather insights and identify near-term opportunities and threats and develop plans to address
    • Be an expert on applicable codes within the pharmaceutical industry (ie. PAAB, IMC)
    • Develop project briefs for tactics requiring agency development and subsequently manage agency and cross-functional input to lead to successful project completion at pace
    • Develop and deliver commercial tactics and POAs in alignment with launch/business plans
    • Secure approvals (external/internal) of marketing materials and monitor for renewals
    • Create internal and external meeting agendas (ie. Core team/advisory boards), minute-taking and sharing/monitoring follow up actions
    • Share knowledge and best practices across therapy and functional areas and teams
    • Manage A&P budget to ensure brand/portfolio spend is on target
    • Build tactical salesforce implementation guides & training material as needed
    • Provide adequate training, coaching, follow-up and development of sales representatives in all phases of their work including career development.
    • Ensure that representatives understand marketing strategies and thoroughly communicate balanced product information.
    • Plan and conduct sales meetings to inform, train, and motivate representatives.
    • Keep current on relevant matters including company business, policy and procedures to ensure 100% compliant implementation.
    • Monitor risk management plans, including competitor ready planning and execute mitigation strategies as needed
    • Overnight travel may be involved.

    Qualifications Required
    • 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing/commercial roles
    • Bachlerors Degree in Science or Business
    • Strong strategic marketing skills
    • An agile mindset and willingness to challenge both self/status quo for business and patient impact
    • Ability to effectively work with urgency in an environment of ambiguity and change
    • Ability to lead with or without authority, motivate & influence peers and others
    • Ability to quickly move to implications of information received & formulate scenarios and plans
    • Inspiring business acumen demonstrated by the ability to set a vision, develop and execute a comprehensive, innovative and strategic plan
    • Strong track record of delivering results in a quick-changing and high-energy environment, while effectively managing competing priorities
    • Skills in tracking the return on investment of various projects/initiatives (ROI)
    • Experience working with third party vendors and agreements
    • Demonstrated time & project management skills for self and team-based activities
    • Excellence in communication, presentation and customer engagement skills
    • Self-motivated, engaged, passionate, committed, invested in the business
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Ability to travel domestically as necessary
    • Candidate must be able to travel extensively across Canada
    • Fluent in the English language

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in people management & coaching is strongly preferred
    • Experience in specialty care and/or immunology
    • Masters Degree in Science or Business
    • Bilingual French/English is a definite asset
