Your Role and Responsibilities

Location for this role: Fredericton, Ottawa or Markham.

The Cloud QA Developer will be an integral part of IBM’s Security Intelligence QRadar software development team responsible for making QRadar available in various cloud marketplaces, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc. They will assist in testing the solutions in different cloud platforms and help lead the team in following agile development best practices. This work will have a direct impact on making QRadar available in different cloud platforms, as well as providing a simplified deployment and installation of QRadar to improve IBM Security’s standing as the global leader in IT security products.

Main Responsibilities Include

• The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality software in compliance with technical design and secure engineering best practices
• Turn feature requirements and defect/story descriptions into concrete test cases and well structured, maintainable automation code.
• Deliver comprehensive software test cases and test automation in alignment with the established business priority
• Work in collaboration with our agile development team delivering own tasked work and helping ensure success for teammates deliverables as well.
• Lead the team’s agile ceremonies and help drive a culture of continuous improvement, helping teammates navigate roadblocks. Act as a main contact for engaging with other scrum teams and stakeholders
• Care to critique, actively provide open and respectful feedback with the aim to help strengthen and improve team process, dynamics, and the work we deliver
• Troubleshoot and diagnose software problems and provide suggested solutions with focus on quality and impact to users.
• Report status on a regular basis and ensure a high level of quality for all deliverables
  
  

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• English Fluent (verbal and written)
• 2+ years of experience with testing or developing and maintaining production level software
• 2 + years working within Agile Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with two or more of the following: Java/Java script, SQL, Bash/shell scripting, Python, XML,
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-driven with excellent attention to detail and obsessive about quality
• Ability to manage workload to meet specific deadlines in accordance with business priorities
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes
• Experience with automated testing
• Must work effectively as part of a team and be able to exercise independent judgment within defined guidelines and procedures
• Demonstrated communication skills with English fluency, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

• Experience with IBM’s QRadar
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with the software development and testing methodologies for enterprise level software
• Interest in the Security Industry
• Interest in the cloud platforms, virtualization
• Experience testing using Selenium
• Experience with championing development team process improvements
• Experience with or knowledge of various cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, etc)
• Experience with or knowledge of Packer and Terraform
• Experience with customers or support personnel to successfully bring problems and defects to resolution
