AGS Automotive Systems is a full-service automotive supplier specializing in the manufacture and supply of complex high value-add automotive metal components, including in particular front and rear impact assemblies, principally for pick-ups and the heavy truck market. AGS is looking for a CAD Designer to join our dynamic organization.

JOB SUMMARY

The CAD Designer is responsible for, and not limited to, performing design on their designated system. The CAD Designer will work with engineers both internal and external to create data files defining fit, form, and function of desired parts in both 2D and 3D workspace. Knowledge of data translation functions on their respective systems is required.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advanced CAD modeling using NX software’s for 3D design
  • With a background in automotive design, develop product proposals to the functional and structural targets of the customer and design guidelines.
  • Supports estimating process through design and quote data collection
  • Continually supporting innovative opportunities thru design to benefit customer
  • Evaluate design alternatives for performance, cost, and mass efficiency
  • Coordinates engineering projects with other departments and/or divisions

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent Unigraphics (NX) Skills (Minimum 6K Hours hands-on experience in an automotive environment)
  • Expert excel skill preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently
  • Strong understanding of materials, engineering theory and principles of design
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • Knowledge base on stamp and mold design principles
  • Product data management using ’Team Centering Engineering’ is an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
