Job Overview

FBN Direct is a rapidly growing input transaction platform serving farmers, providing crop protection products, seed treatments, fertilizers, and a variety of other crop inputs directly to farmers. FBN Direct offers an industry-changing, independent, and unbiased way for farmers to purchase their crop inputs - emphasizing superior value, and through a seamless transaction process that delivers products directly to the farm.

The Business Intelligence Analyst, International Procurement is responsible for executing our business intelligence, reporting, and analytics needs on behalf of our global procurement organization. This involves working with our teams in the US, Canada, and Australia to analyze and report on our global sourcing and manufacturing activities for agricultural crop protection chemicals.

Job Responsibilities Will Evolve With Business Needs And Include

The successful candidate will be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and a proven ability to organize disparate data sources into meaningful insights and recommendations. Fluency in SQL and data visualization tools (like Tableau) is a must to be successful in our analytical environment.

• Use SQL, Amazon Redshift, Tableau, and spreadsheets to analyze data from a variety of data sources on a daily basis
• Develop dashboards and analytics to report on international purchase orders and shipments (largely originating from China and India)
• Develop dashboards and analytics to report on chemical manufacturing progress at our global third party tolling locations
• Analyze global import and export volumes and pricing data for chemicals of interest
• Develop data and analytics integrations with key stakeholders in adjacent departments, such as sales (demand planning) and logistics, to streamline business processes
• Research and implement statistical models (such as the Newsvendor model) to assist with “make vs buy” decisions
• Organize and report on registered suppliers, state registrations, and other regulatory considerations
• Develop dashboards and reports to organize and visualize vendor data, price quotes, and payments
• Create reports to assist with internal QA/QC efforts on procurement workflows and ERP processes
• Develop new frameworks to forecast cost of goods sold at every step of the procurement and production process
• Forecast, analyze, and report on cash spend versus plan
• Analyze working capital and inventory positions
• Develop reporting and analytics for sales and operations planning meetings
• Proactively propose improvements in systems and processes to make the organization faster and more efficient
• Partner with managers to interpret data at all times and make data-driven business recommendations for key decisions on a daily basis
• Provide insight and the “so what” instead of just data output in order to be a key contributor to organizational decision making
• Be persistent in ensuring data quality and resourceful in getting data that is not immediately available
• Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
• Commit to overall team and company success with a willingness to assist with duties outside of scope as needed
  
  

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
• 2+ years of SQL experience
• 2+ years of experience with data visualization and analysis experience (Tableau preferred)
• 2+ years of analytics/data science/BizOps experience, preferably at a fast-growing company
• Experience with CRM/ERP systems to develop v1 reports and dashboards (NetSuite preferred)
• Ability to deliver results quickly with iteration, instead of waiting for perfection
• Affinity for telling stories with data - numbers are key, but a business is built with people
• Proven ability to establish cross functional relationships and effective communication while making an impact
• Analytical experience in global logistics and/or agrochemical organization is preferred
