This is an 18 month term position based in Calgary.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager of a multi-year transformation program, the Business Analyst will play a key role in the development of new standards for Qualico’s land acquisition and development operations. They will bring to the team their deep knowledge of the operational processes, people, and tools in relation to the land acquisition and development structure. With this knowledge and experience, the Business Analyst will analyze information, recommend solutions, identify risks, and be closely involved in testing and training.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a change champion for Project Unity.
  • Supporting the creation and standardization of work processes, reports, data, and documentation.
  • Analyzing information and providing recommendations.
  • Supporting the development of project and migration plans.
  • Supporting the team with resolving issues and obtaining decisions.
  • Working with business stakeholders to document reporting or other requirements for all functional areas, including finance and accounting.
  • Collaborating with members from the business, project stakeholders, external third-party vendors and consultants as required.
  • Supporting and participating in the creation and execution of test plans related to system functionality and processes.
  • Reviewing and signing-off on requirements, designs and other documentation.
  • Providing the project and training team with guidance and support with the development of user training plans, materials, and other documentation.
  • Supporting the project team with data-clean up and other migration related tasks.
  • Supporting risk management by highlighting issues, potential risks, and recommendations for the project team.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Analysis, or equivalent is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 6 years of combined Land Development and business analysis experience within the residential construction or homebuilding industry is required.
  • Experience in driving operational performance improvement within an organization.
  • Strong understanding of business process mapping and how the application of business processes drives performance results.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams) and project management scheduling tools (Smartsheet, MS Project).

Work Conditions

You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Work outside of normal business hours may occasionally be required.
