Reporting through the Office of Government’s Chief Information Officer, the Connectivity Division leads government’s mandate to expand internet connectivity to all British Columbians in all corners of the province. The division manages provincial funding programs, provides leadership, expertise, tools and supports to communities and local governments in the expansion, coordination and provisioning of telecommunications services, evaluating innovation solutions and pathways to the adoption of emerging technologies that enable the digital transformation of communities in every corner of the Province. The Connectivity Division delivers on this mandate through its Network BC and Connected Communities branches. Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet theeducation and experienceas outlined below:
Education

  • University degree in geomatics, statistics, resource management, geography, computer science, OR equivalent may be considered.


Experience

  • Experience developing and managing large spatial and attribute data sets and experience with database management tools and applications.
  • Experience developing methodologies, and performing custom geo-spatial data modelling and complex analysis and interpretations.
  • Experience leading and resolving complex issues, both staff and client.
  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients in a customer service environment.


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Technical experience with: RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems), GIS, Microsoft PowerBI, MS Azure, BC Gov Tenant, GitHub, Java, React JavaScript, Perl, Php, Python.
  • Experience with: BC Data Catalogue, BC Router API, BC Address Geocoder, BC Geographic Warehouse, BC Common Hosted Email Service, Web Map Services, APIs, Keycloak, BCeID/IDIR Identity Information Management.
  • Experience with Agile methodology for IT projects.
  • Experience supervising technical staff.
