The AVP,Organizational Change Management (OCM)plays a critical leadership role & is central to fundamental strategic deliverables within OCM.

Strategic Deliverables

Tactical Operations.The AVP, OCM will lead day-to-day tactical operations of the OCM department and the standardized delivery of CWB’s change management practices (People 1st) across the enterprise. Collaboratively, this operationally focused leader will continue to optimize OCMs’ processes, tools, supports and development of people who deliver change plans and materials in support of this standardized practice. Inclusive of building and maintaining strong relationships with the leaders of the People 1st partner teams (Corporate Communications, Learning & Development, Public Relations, Marketing, and Human Resources).

Operational Enhancements.This successful incumbent will also lead the maturing & enhancing of OCM as the centre of excellence and trainingfor standardized change practices on major projects and enhancements, offering OCM and People 1st training and orientation modules, self-service change management tool kits, play-lists, recommended readings and coaching (i.e., coach-the-coaches and 1:1) on a mixture of People 1st tactical application and theoretical change delivery models.

Leadership.As part of the OCM leadership team, this role is critical to supporting OCMs’ organization wide change strategy, alignment and ensuring overarching achievement of CWB values, strategic goals, and organizational change maturity while collectively & collaboratively sustaining & enhancing OCMs’ day-to-day operations to incorporate emerging change-management theory and best-practices, data integrity, stakeholder feedback mechanisms and reporting on organizational and project-specific KPI’s.

Accountabilities

Enacting Corporate Strategy & Priorities

  • Use CWB Group’s strategy, structure, processes, and culture to mature and maximize OCM’s change-delivery and optimize people-related business benefits from projects and enhancements.

  • Deepen the understanding of change management across the business through socialization, training, coaching and development of self-service tools and frameworks.

  • Continuously scan for possible business and environmental influences/constraints, adjust by making operational adjustments and influencing P1 partner-leaders to do the same.

  • Act and be recognized as a thought leader within the discipline and practice of Organizational Change Management inside and outside of CWB.

  • Maintain a continual view of the health and performance of organizational change, identifying emerging risks and opportunities; recognizing likely impacts on OCM practices, plans and objectives, informing the SAVP, Sr. OCM and P1 Partner Leaders and OCM team members.

  • Support & collaborate to help define, implement, and mature CWB’s change management governance, scope, milestones, deliverables, outcomes, measures, benefits, and timelines.

  • Challenge paradigms and foster creative thinking on ways to change and innovate CWB.

  • Acts as a spokesperson for OCM in regular presentations to small or large groups, being a sought-after speaker!

  • Support creation & management of OCM’s operating budget, resource requirements and FTE allocations.

  • Determine ways to reduce costs, increase revenues, and improve overall company performance and growth.

World Class Change Management Services

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the interrelation of all CWBFG areas and departments, using this information to connect resources, align insights, remove barriers, and influence organizational change.

  • Determine, build and maintain the data models and framework to measure, monitor and report on CWB change management activities, performance levels and maturity progression.

  • Scan the global change management discipline, benchmarks, and best practices to determine how successful CWB is/has been at managing change and what needs to be done to maintain its industry leading OCM advantage.

  • Compare CWB change performance and maturity assessment results to the success of the company and develop tactics to improve P1 delivery.

  • Provide input to organizational and portfolio level change strategies for large, complex transformational programs.

  • Translate OCM data into meaningful insights, information, and recommendations for action.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of roadmap and support all activities.

Fostering Relationships and Growing Talent

  • Accountable to ensure the development, facilitation and ongoing maintenance of Organizational Change Management education and training to P1 leaders, development & delivery teams, and receiver audience team members.

  • Lead and manage the change environment by tailoring approaches to suit current situations, engaging leaders and team members on the application of the principles, types and stages of change.

  • Identify both the overt and covert culture of the organization and its influence on the change.

  • Ensure accountabilities for change management ownership, sponsorship and work are placed in the appropriate areas, and to the appropriate roles in CWB.

  • Build and nurture strong networks to influence seemingly ‘unreachable’ parties to gain buy in and agreement

  • Assess enterprise readiness for the change, building change strategies and plans, rewarding efforts to change along the way.

  • Assist in the assessment of department-level team readiness for the change and recommendations for P1 approach and key message/language adjustments to suit.

Core knowledge requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Management or Organizational Development using experience in the application and influence of change management principles, processes, and behaviors. Particularly the understanding & execution of Prosci® Change Management Methodology

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with large-scale, complex organizational change initiatives.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience liaising with executive and senior leaders on enterprise-level targets, goals, risks, issues, and transformational objectives.
