Role Summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking Automation Tester who could join in our team of IT professionals in a permanent role. If you meet our background requirements and skills and looking for an opportunity to be rewarded for your skills and expertise, here is the ideal opportunity for you!

Quality Engineering & Assurance (QE&A) Practice. With clients across industry verticals and a global footprint, Cognizant QE&A practice is a recognized thought leader in quality engineer and Assurance .As enterprises simplify, modernize and secure their legacy environments for the digital era, robust quality Engineering and assurance (QE&A) is essential. Quality takes an end-to-end connotation and must straddle both legacy and digital systems. Cognizant QE&A is reimagining QE, employing an end-to-end ecosystem approach with intelligent and automated processes. In so doing, increasing quality and speed to promote faster business and technology change and a better customer experience.

Required Skills

• Identify the scope of the testing required for a particular release based on the requirements document and lead a team of QA resources
• Participate in the creation of the test strategy and test plan
• Obtain clarification on ambiguities raised and where appropriate update knowledge artifacts for future reference
• Create test scenarios, test conditions, test cases and test scripts as required
• Adhere to client defined QA processes, templates and tools
• Peer review test cases, scripts and test plans
• Update test cases based on review feedback and execute them
• Sequence tests based on the flow of the business process
• Set up transactional data for the tests, as required
• Record test results and log the defects with related information into the defect tracking tool in accordance with the client’s requirements
• Set up data for re-testing, and re-test defect fixes
• Track and close defects after re-testing
• Provide reports on testing progress to the onsite QA Lead (or offshore lead) and the QA Program Lead
• Develop and maintain test scripts
• Execute test scripts based on the plan and sequence of testing
