The Application Engineering Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead an applications engineering team (principal applications engineers, applications engineers, proposal writer, designer), to support the commercial and technical application offerings of Pall Water. This role will improve internal project management processes and develop Pall Waters application capabilities to provide technical support to sales and our customer’s (E+C’s, Municipal, Industrial).

Applications Team Leadership (50%):
  • Oversee, and correct where needed, the quality of work in process design, equipment selection, cost estimation, bid strategy (including OpEx & CapEx evaluations), risk assessment, proposal documentation, technical review, negotiation of purchase order, and handoff to operations
  • Direct production of technical quotations and proposals to ensure efficient integration of our systems into the customer’s process
  • Cultivate a team that finds opportunities where competitive products or technologies are a better fit to deliver superior value to the customer, recommend to sales leaders that Pall Water decline to bid on those opportunities
  • Advocate for the customer as an internal partner to new product development, engineering changes to current products, and changes to execution strategy through improvement events
  • Support the sales manager with technical qualification of specifications, bids & leads
  • Produce Risk Assessments and Kickoff Package to operations for booked projects. Resolve technical questions, utilizing in-house and outside resources
  • Benchmark Americas team standard work & processes against global processes, seeking the best approaches for global standard work. Support the distributed team in development of costing for those projects where project execution would require the use of Americas execution teams
People Leadership, Organizational and Talent Development (30%):
  • Evaluate, coach, and guide team in process excellence, addressing gaps, and enacting countermeasures. Engage and retain a highly productive and efficient team while driving development and succession planning for the team
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with cross-functional peers/teams and customers addressing areas of concern and continuing performance requirements
  • Ensure the team is supporting the sales process by building credibility, seeking deep understanding of customer needs, and advocating for our solutions through customer calls and meetings
  • Champion engagement to build organizational and people capabilities; develop future leaders, build the bench with diverse talent; imports and exports talent
Thought leadership (20%):
  • Foster an environment of thought leadership directly participating, and assigning where needed, attendance in key industry events, representing Pall Water as an inspiring leader in the industrial and municipal water spaces.
  • Be the primary technical contact for select sub-suppliers required to execute systems, mobile and aftermarket projects to industrial & municipal customers
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain to set vendor expectations in supply chain partnerships for goods & services
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Science and a min. 5 years of application experience required, strongly preferred in Micro Filtration, Reverse Osmosis and EDI - electrode ionization)
  • Min. 2 years experience managing an engineering, application, or process team required
  • Proven experience translating and evaluating the customers’ needs (VOC and insights) into business priorities that have the strongest potential to deliver high value commercially viable solutions

The salary range for this role is $110,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
