The Analyst, Policy and Compliance, will report to the Manager, Policy and Compliance and will support the Claims department with the implementation, execution and monitoring of our Corporate and Claims policies, frameworks and regulatory requirements to establish a mature compliance culture that promotes compliance with all laws, regulations, standards, and best practices.

This role assists our Claims functions, partners, and leaders in:
  • Meeting regulatory requirements
  • Developing and documenting current controls
  • Building awareness and compliance to Economical standards
  • Mitigating compliance risk

What can you expect in this role?
  • Support the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive policy, legislative and regulatory compliance program
  • Execute reviews of various Claims business functions against policy and regulatory compliance standards including assessment of internal controls and procedures, reporting results and developing comprehensive action plans
  • Assist with the annual regulatory compliance attestation program, including assessment of regulatory objectives, controls, procedures and supporting artifacts
  • Participate in various projects pertaining to compliance and business control processes as requested
  • Assist with the development of compliance risk metrics/dashboard and preparation of periodic business compliance risk reporting to Leaders and/or Committee as necessary
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and changes. Determine legislative interpretation, impact and draft/recommend actions to minimize compliance risk and be a valued business advisor
  • Support an effective business compliance partnership program and foster awareness of the company’s policies and procedures through regular touchpoints, training and on-going advisory/consultative support

What do you bring to the role?
  • Compliance experience, preferably in a financial institution, and 2+ years of front-line control Claims
  • Business policy, guidelines, manuals drafting experience
  • University degree, with a background in business management, finance and/or law
  • Achievement or working towards a designation/certification, such as CIP, or Compliance Administration, etc. are preferred
  • Previous P&C claims file audit experience or related quality assurance experience within financial services
  • function, or P&C experience
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills to help foster a positive compliance culture
  • Team player and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and document management experience

This role requires successful clearance of a background check (including credit & criminal checks)
