Department : Finance Corporate Accounting

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

You will responsible for preparing financial information for the Company’s acquisitions and dispositions. You will assist the Senior Advisor, Transactions and Accounting Standards and the Senior Advisor, Transactions, in analyzing accounting treatments and reviewing the Company’s accounting policies.

  • Analyze transaction-related agreements and conduct consolidation analyses; record and present financial data related to acquisition and disposition deals;
  • Conduct analyses and identify complex accounting treatments;
  • Help review closing and post-closing adjustments for acquisition and disposition transactions;
  • Prepare quarterly acquisition and disposition reports as well as various reports for governance purposes;
  • Coordinate updates to the list of acquisition-related commitments not yet disbursed with the Consolidation team;
  • Prepare audit files for transactions;
  • Assist the Senior Advisor, Transactions and Accounting Standards in reviewing and distributing accounting policies as well as training the Corporate Services Accounting and the Consolidation teams on the new standards and major changes;
  • Help to maintain, update and monitor control matrices and financial certificates in accordance with COSO standards;
  • Assist the Senior Advisor, Transactions, with ad hoc requests for financial information on the Company’s investments.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Seven to nine years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in investment transaction accounting, an asset;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA designation;
  • Solid knowledge of Canadian and international accounting standards;
  • Excellent analytical skills and a talent for processing and interpreting complex information;
  • Good prioritization and multitasking skills; ability to work independently and perform under pressure;
  • Ability to establish productive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong communication, teamwork and collaboration skills;
  • Confidently innovative, creative and comfortable in challenging the status quo;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including in-depth knowledge of Excel; familiarity with JD Edwards, an asset;
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
