Work alongside a high-performing team in a dynamic and continuously improving environment

The Patient Care Quality Review Board Act provides an avenue for patients to voice complaints about the quality of the health care they received, or the absence of health care services they believe they were entitled to receive. The role of the boards is to oversee the resolution of complaints about the quality of care provided to patients of the health system for which the Minister of Health is responsible. The purpose to the Act was to put a formal process in place to respond to complaints made by or on behalf of patients of the health system. The Act provides a two-level process and the boards are responsible for the second level of the process.

The Care Quality Analyst conducts comprehensive research and analysis, and systematic review of healthcare records for the preparation of case reports presented to Minister-appointed boards for a care quality review. The Care Quality Analyst interfaces with patients and their families and health authority patient care quality offices across the province to synthesize all facets of the case for board consideration. This role requires exceptional writing as Care Quality Analysts are responsible for writing case summaries. Additionally, Care Quality Analysts must have excellent presentation skills as they do actively participate in the board meeting to answer questions and provide additional relevant information as needed.
