The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT prepares students for a dynamic career in the health care sector. We offer specialized training in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, professional assistant programs, information management, and training for wellness professionals. Our programs are hands on, with students and instructors immersed in living classrooms and simulated training.The OpportunityThis Administrative Assistant position provides high-quality, detail-oriented administrative support to an academic chair(s) in the School of Health and Public Safety. Working as part of our Learner Experience and Administration team, this role supports admission, orientation, student progress, and graduation processes to ensure student success.This position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, organization, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience providing an excellent level of student and/or customer service. They must be a self-starter who enjoys project-based work with a strong ability to manage competing priorities. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, alongside familiarity with allied health fields is an additional asset for the position.The RoleAdmissions and Applicant Management:
  • Manage the workflow of the selection processes for timely, service focused selection of applicants into the assigned SAIT programs
  • Act as the first point of resolution for applicants who have concerns and questions related to the process
Administrative Requirements:
  • Data entry into SAIT information technology systems including Microsoft Suite and BANNER
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and organization of student, program, and staff records
  • Administrative support to the Academic Chair(s) (e.g. booking meetings, minute taking)
  • Planning and coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Accreditation Canada requirements by maintaining an excellent record keeping system, organizing meetings, and typing up reports.
Student Support/Meetings and Event Planning:
  • In collaboration with the Academic Chair and HPS Academic Advisor, assist students with SAIT’s policies and procedures to help students successfully complete their program.
  • Provide timely, service-focused communication with applicants, students, and staff through email, phone and face to face interactions
Qualifications & Experience
  • Administrative professional diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years in an administrative and/or student support role
  • Experience in a post-secondary education or healthcare environment preferred
  • Certification or evidence of advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications preferred
