About the Opportunity

Orano Canada is currently looking for an Accountantto join our team in Saskatoon,SK, on a full-time basis. Travel will be required occasionally to our project sites in Northern Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in our financial budgeting and accounting decision support functions, in collaboration with the Joint Venture Monitoring team. This pivotal role includes responsibilities within month-end accounting, financial planning, expenditures, and yearly projections.

More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for non-operated Joint Venture full accounting and financial reporting cycle:
  • Month-end accounting and fixed asset accounting
  • Preparing the annual operating and capital expenditures budget and quarterly forecasts for the company’s non-operated Joint Ventures
  • Participating in monthly project review meetings
  • Assisting external auditors in the performance of the annual year-end audit work
  • Assisting with operational excellence reporting initiatives (Value2023)
  • Collaborating with the Joint Venture Monitoring team
  • Providing and preparing ad hoc reports and analyses as required
  • Embracing, promoting, and supporting Operational Excellence and OE culture
  • Complying with all company health, safety, and environmental policies, practices, and procedures

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related position, along with an Accounting degree and CPA designation (completed or close to completion). The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using SAP as an asset.

You are a strong communicator with the ability to deliver and adapt clear messaging in various forms to their diverse audiences and team members. You have previous experience in analyzing, preparing, and presenting data, with the ability to prioritize work effectively. You possess excellent planning and organization skills, with strong oral and written communication ability.

As our ideal candidate, you will have a strong work ethic and attention to detail, in addition to the ability to collaborate in order to cultivate a supportive, fun working environment. You are adaptable, honest, and ethical, with a commitment to professional development and ongoing learning. Moreover, you are self-motivated, with excellent time management, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
