The opportunity


As an Account Coordinator, you will support the external audit team of one of the largest banks in Canada. You will provide year-round project management support for the audit team.


Your key responsibilities


Skills and attributes for success


Assist with managing the fee planning and budget-to-actual process for the audit engagement
Assist in the project management of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control testing process including scheduling staff, coordination with internal audit, and reporting status
Managing the auditor independence procedures, including both personal and engagement independence, for the audit team
Create a quarterly services report highlighting services performed for the client, as well as managing incoming RFPs from the client
Assist with staff onboarding, coordination with international teams, and other ad hoc engagement tasks as required


To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • No experience required; recent graduates accepted, but some experience in project management would be an asset. The project management experience could be shown through work experience or through extracurricular activities that involve organizing events involving many people and large number of deliverables
  • Strong MS-Excel skills and knowledge of business development tools, systems and reporting is desirable. Candidate should know how to use pivot tables, vlookup, and sumif functions in Excel to summarize large amounts of data into reports.
  • Good marks in courses in Excel, financial modelling using Excel, computer programming, or quantitative subjects would help differentiate a candidate
  • Strong organizational skills and a very high attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This could be shown through work experience or through maintaining a full course load while also working part time or being involved in extracurricular activities


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A certificate or diploma in project management would be an asset
  • Interest in or progression towards the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset, but not requirement
