Eaton’s eMobilty Division is currently seeking a Customer Service Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Port Coquitlam, Canada facility.Position Overview
This position would primarily be focused on repair, support and maintain radio remote and vehicle control systems. Incumbent also will be responsible for supporting engineering with the design and testing of new designs /applications, support sales and administration and occasionally including the editing or correction of technical manuals, design, building of test jigs.
In This Role, You Will Be
- Responsible for the quality repair, testing and support of radio remotes used to control vehicles such as tow trucks, concrete pump truck, boat lift, tailer movers etc. in timely fashion.
- Responsible to write, edit and correct application manuals, maintain, design and build test jigs, provide clear and concise service reports.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- 2-year college diploma in electronics from an accredited intuition
- Must be authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 80 kilometers of Port Coquitlam, Canada will be considered.
- Graduated from an Electronics Engineering Technology Program, BCIT
- 3 years’ experience in an electrical technology field
- Experience with low voltage DC systems.
- Knowledge of electrical connections and their characteristics, applications, and limitations, conductor sizing and current capacity.
- Ability to crimp automotive-style connectors.
- Must have excellent skills and experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience analyzing analog & digital circuits.
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Exceptional trouble shooting skills using a DMM, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Able to build & test prototypes, jigs and new applications.
- Strong electrical prototyping skills with tools such as: wire strippers, wire and lug crimpers, connector insertion and extraction tools and soldering systems.
- Knowledge of electronic testing and assembly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good listening skills.
- Fantastic phone manners.
- Demonstrated capability for critical thinking.
- Be able to write, edit and correct application manuals.
- Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Able to hand solder fine pitched components.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with a team and individually.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to clearly edit/write technical manuals.
- Positive attitude.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
