Caneda Transport has been in business for nearly 40 years and has an excellent reputation in the transportation industry; providing North American wide LTL trucking service of general freight, including hazardous materials. We service many lanes with our fleet of satellite equipped power units and our cross-dock terminals in Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB, Mississauga, ON and Ontario, CA USA. We specialize in expedited delivery of LTL shipment across Canada and between Canada and the USA. Our Head Office is in Calgary, Alberta. Caneda Transport has a Company, Revenue and Mileage fleet of trucks. We have dry vans, heated trailers, and reefers.

Caneda Transport is currently looking to hire a Cross Border Transportation Administrator at Head Office in Calgary, AB. Saturday work and Sunday on call are required for this position.

Job Brief:

The Cross Border Transportation Administrator is responsible for facilitating in the clearance process of shipments crossing the borders and business partner risk assessments. This involves following up on PARS status, communicating with brokers and customers, informing drivers when their shipments have cleared, conducting 5 step risk assessments on all bill to business partners, review and approve shipper/consignee risk assessments that are conducted by dispatch/sales/logistics. You will be required to immediately report any anomalies to EAC. The Cross Border Transportation Administrator must understand that the Company operates in a changing environment, and that he or she must be responsive to change. As a result, new directives maybe added or deleted from the list of responsibilities.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Collect customs paperwork from drivers and enter required customs information (piece count, weight, description of goods, declare value, PARS number, post crossing etc.) into Truck Mate;
  • Email customs paperwork to the respective customs broker and follow up to ensure PARS shipments are cleared to avoid driver delays at the border;
  • Setup and process driver ACI manifests;
  • Process bond shipments as required using Truck Mate or ACI e-Manifest and create A8A manifest to send to the customs broker;
  • Communicate delays and issues related to customs clearance with drivers, dispatch and logistics as required;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good work attitude and willing to learn
  • Background security check (required by CTPAT/PIP)
  • Transportation experience
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced workload
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Must be eligible to legally work in Canada
