The CRO Sales Representative at dicentra is a new role supporting the business development activities within our growing Clinical Research division. The successful candidate is a talented sales professional with experience in prospecting and finding new opportunities and is ready to bring our business to the next level. This role will focus mainly on managing prospective clients interested in receiving quotes for CRO services. To be successful, the CRO Sales Representative needs to be results-driven, a team player, and a clear and strong communicator.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and qualifying new leads
  • Preparing NDAs and gathering intel on client’s objectives for research
  • Cold-calling prospective and current clients to develop rapport and promote dicentra’s clinical research services
  • Scheduling meetings and presentations with prospects
  • Creating, planning, and delivering presentations on company products
  • Tracking all sales activities in the company CRM system and keep current by updating account information regularly
  • Communicating customer and prospect product pain points to appropriate departments
  • Maintaining a well-developed pipeline of prospects
  • Developing strong, ongoing relationships with prospects and clients
  • Meeting and/or exceeding sales quotas
  • Coordinating with other team members and departments to optimize the sales effort
  • Generating ideas to make the business organization attractive to prospective clients and generate ideas to enable sales growth
  • Providing assistance in proposal writing for the CRO
  • Providing assistance in marketing literature development
  • Providing needed education to clients on clinical research pathways for different regulatory approvals.
  • Recognizing and working in line with any change in clients’ needs and environment
  • Understanding the services the CRO has to offer and communicating such varieties of services to the client
  • Upgrading skills by attending industrial training programs, conferences, seminars, and trade shows
  • Attending courses to keep abreast of trends and technologies relating to the business organization and allotted duties
  • Reading publications relating to the latest business trends and emerging markets as it affects the CRO
  • Composing periodic sales reports, either weekly or monthly, and submit the reports to management
  • Researching and recommending business strategy, both in the long term and short term to the organization’s management towards business expansion

Job Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a client-facing sales role (required)
  • 2+ years’ experience in B2B sales (preferred)
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma is required
  • An educational background in science is not a necessity but will be looked on very favourably
  • An exceptional and proven track record in closing deals and possession of superb negotiation skills
  • Experience using CRM’s
  • Must be able to work quickly and diligently in developing proposals and executing contracts through collaboration with industry experts, vendors, and external sites or practitioners as required
  • Relevant experience working in any of the following industries (preferred):
  • Contract-clinical research
  • Consumer products
  • Medical Devices
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Dietary Supplements
  • Cosmetics
  • Food & Beverage
  • Must have an understanding of ICH-GCP Guidelines, Canadian and/or American regulatory frameworks pertaining to clinical research
  • Must be able to communicate the technical aspects related to clinical research flawlessly
  • Proven ability to plan, develop, and execute business development initiatives employing a targeted approach within a niche clinical research industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills are an absolute MUST
  • Ability to adapt and thrive within an entrepreneurial environment where priorities shift quickly
  • Must be effective at building and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients. You will be the face of dicentra at meetings, networking events, and conferences for our Clinical Research Division
