Job Description


The Corporate Manager of Supply Chain (MSC) leads all Contracts, Procurement, Expediting, Supplier Quality Surveillance, Materials Management, Transportation and Logistics, and Procurement IT teams across Canada.

The MSC is a key member of the Management Team that executes Bantrel’s corporate and project work. In collaboration with senior leaders, the MSC is responsible for providing leadership and support ensuring Bantrel’s goals and objectives are met.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads, manages, and functionally supports the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department project and corporate work through Bantrel/Bechtel established policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Corporate Manager of Engineering and Services in executing the company’s strategic initiatives and future operational direction.
  • Supports Client Solutions in the development of business development initiatives, as well as all proposal responses.
  • Supports and liaises with Project Managers to support their project needs and staffing needs
  • Maintains excellent relationship with client representatives and fosters cooperative approach in sharing responsibilities and be strategic in communication.
  • Executes commitments within delegated signing authority.
  • Effectively and efficiently manages Policies and Procedures, tracking SCM performance, claims management and assisting the SCM team with issues that arise.
  • Oversees/conducts hiring of personnel, personnel annual reviews and recommends to the designated manger salary actions, classification changes, terminations, and transfers.
  • Will occasionally be assigned to project duties when required.
  • Responsible for all audit requirements for SCM.
  • Works with direct reports to ensure Bantrel has the resources to adequately execute projects:
    • General staffing of projects
    • Subject Matter Experts

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in all matters of Supply Chain within an EPC and/or client organisation.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Law, Engineering or Construction Management is an asset.
  • Extensive experience and/or courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling, claims mitigation, management, analysis, negotiation, and resolution.
  • Direct experience in the function of managing workload distribution and execution of the work as well as personnel interviews, selection, salary planning, classification changes, performance evaluation, career counseling, transfers, and terminations.
  • Thorough knowledge of SCM home office and field procedures and documents relating to projects.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices.
  • Nuclear experience would be an asset.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture by leading by example.
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity and a high degree of Emotional Intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Stakeholders including Clients, Senior Leaders, and frontline employees.
  • Brings a team-centric approach that is supportive and encouraging.
  • Can manage shifting priorities while maintaining deliverable deadlines
