Acre Architects is seeking a controller to become a core team member who will work directly with the co-owners and project architects, and will provide outstanding financial skills, organization and leadership. As a controller with Acre Architects, you are detail oriented, engaged, adaptable, hard- working, and care about your work and team.

Qualifications And Skills

Solid communication, technology, and analytical skills

Knowledge of accounting standards and day-to-day financial practices

At least seven years of relevant experience and education in accounting or finance

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the team

Willingness to step-in and support the team as required with a “can-do” attitude

Fluent in oral and written English

Experience in a professional services firm would be an asset

Typical Duties

Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

Invoicing, AP, AR, WIP management, consultant financial tracking

Payroll, expenses, and on-boarding assistance

Cashflow, bank reconciliation & deposits

Funding, grants, loan & debt management

Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

Coordinating activities of external auditors

Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

Supporting project architects with required project financial tracking data

Developing and monitoring business performance metrics and budgeting

Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and

implementing new processes
