Computer Systems Analyst II, Temporary Full-Time,
Central Zone

Definition of Work:
The Computer Systems Analyst II performs advanced technical work in planning, directing and co-ordinating the development of information technology systems and services. Work also includes conducting investigations into problems with existing production systems and the controlling and co-ordinating of maintenance and enhancement projects to existing systems. Research, plan, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and integrate network, security, data center and telecommunications infrastructure, configuration, hardware and related communications equipment, as it pertains to local and wide area networks, cable management, fiber-optics, Wi-Fi, Internet and other enterprise data center and unified communications systems. Analysis and consultation on production and test systems requirements, development and implementation of information systems development plans, policies and procedures, and provide advice and guidance on a wide range of advanced enterprise information technology system issues.

Position Duties:
  • Performs analysis on information technology support requests.
  • Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), data center networks, Internet communications, and Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony networks and peripheral infrastructure.
  • Develops and/or deploys documents and tests solutions on existing or new systems.
  • Tests, analyzes and deploys new technologies.
  • Tests the disaster recovery plan.
  • Evaluate, configure and install enterprise IT infrastructure, (i.e., switches, routers, firewalls, email gateways remote access solutions, servers, storage array, backup solution and unified communication systems.)
  • Operate IT infrastructure management software to monitor the health of enterprise systems.
  • Provide problem-solving services and training to end users.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations related to all enterprise infrastructure.
  • Conduct tests and perform security, performance, and quality controls.
  • Operate independently and provide team lead duties for system operations.
  • Analyze user requirements, and design/develop system architecture and
specifications.
  • Supervise, inspect and provide design support during the installation and implementation of data and telecommunications networks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Assess, document, and optimize the capacity and performance of information and communication systems.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of several technologies (i.e., Microsoft Exchange Email, Azure, Anti-spam products), VOIP / Cellular based unified communications systems, networking (LAN/WAN) and related protocols, firewalls, operating systems, servers, storage, service provider networks, infrastructure design and management, data centre management, structured wiring, application support and development, enterprise management, and business services.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills complimented by the ability to develop and maintain effective working.
  • Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and access issues.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information using excellent judgment, diplomacy, and discretion
Required qualifications:
  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science Degree, or a Bachelor Degree supplemented by a recognized graduate diploma in Information Technology (minimum 1 year), or a 3-year Information Technology diploma from a recognized technical college
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in enterprise IT Infrastructure in areas of Data Center, Networking and Unified Communication with focus in system design, planning, installation, and administration.
  • Experience providing technical advice to project teams and management including working with vendors on complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Experience providing team leadership.
  • IT certifications in MCSE, Cisco, Mitel, Cloud Networking/ Dev-Ops and ITIL are considered an asset.
  • Consistent demonstration of Central Health’s corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Stewardship and Quality
  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
  • A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
Salary:CG-39 ($37.20-$41.63)
