Position Overview

Working under the direction of the Chief Program Officer (CPO), as the Community Engagement Coordinator you will be responsible to coordinate and facilitate community engagement and public education activities on behalf of the Lloydminster Interval Home Society. In this role you will make an important impact by promoting positive action regarding interpersonal violence, homelessness, and youth vulnerabilities, as well as by building connections and linking potential community contributors to our organization. Along with this, you will contribute your innovation and energy to impactful fund development and marketing activities as required. Your professionalism, organizational abilities, along with your dynamic communication and engagement skills will ensure your success in this creative, diverse, and rewarding role.

Duties and Responsibilities
Promote an inspiring team environment with a positive, and professional culture.
Ensure the Interval Home Society’s high standards of service, including confidentiality, professional standards, safety, and cleanliness are maintained.
Maintain strong communication linkage with the CPO, CEO, all LIHS service areas and community stakeholders to share relevant information regarding LIHS, our community activities, partnerships, and opportunities for engagement.
Promote a positive, and holistic understanding of Lloydminster Interval Home Society’s programs and services, working to strengthen community engagement, investment, support, and partnerships.
Coordinate and implement innovative educational activities, community engagement initiatives, and partnerships that promote LIHS and builds knowledge and positive action regarding interpersonal violence, homelessness, and youth vulnerabilities.
Support the development and implementation of internal and external LIHS fundraising initiatives by contributing planning and marketing support as needed.
Develop and implement engaging and innovative public awareness and engagement tools, i.e., print materials, social media, website, video, presentations materials, events.
Contribute to and assist in coordination of LIHS website and social media tools with regularly updated information that is relevant, thought provoking and informative.

Experience and Competencies
Post-secondary education, diploma/degree in a social science or public relations/marketing field is preferred, but a combination of related training and experience will be considered.
A minimum of 2 years professional experience in a human services or public relations/marketing field is required.
Prior experience and proven ability in public speaking, community development and/or group facilitation would be a strong asset in this role.
A strong knowledge of interpersonal violence, youth vulnerabilities, trauma-sensitive practices, knowledge of strategies and supports for wellbeing and empowerment is an important asset.
You must have a valid drivers license, clean drivers abstract, and a minimum of three years driving and insurance history.
