Job DescriptionImperial provides job opportunities for local Sahtu beneficiaries to work and be mentored directly on the job site. This maximum 2 year internship program provides paid training and work experience in the petroleum industry at our Norman Wells Operations.As an initial assignment you will train as a member of our operating staff to gain practical hands-on experience with operating and safety procedures. On-the-job experience will be supplemented with additional related formal training. You will begin in plant operations. You will be required to work on your own without direct supervision following the initial training period. Safe and efficient operation of the plant facilities is a key component of this position.Responsibilities

• Understanding and abiding by all safety rules and standards, reporting hazards
• Monitoring of social media, arranging community engagement, admin support
• Working as part of socioeconomic team

QualificationsThis posting is intended for applicants who self-identify as Indigenous Sahtu beneficiary.Academic:

• Grade 12 high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required for this position
• For operations, 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset
• For Administrative assistant, a diploma/certificate in office admin is an asset

Other:

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able to work shift work
• Able to communicate effectively with team members
