One of our leading clients in the Insurance industry is seeking the following:

• Position: Commercial Underwriter
• Location: Hamilton, ON (Hybrid)
• Salary:$75,000-$90,000
• Duration: Permanent, Full-Time position

Qualifications:

• CIP designation, or equivalent level work experience and actively pursuing CIP.
• Minimum 3 years in underwriting Commercial Automobile (medium to complex risks).
• Understanding of the trucking industry. Exposure to long-haul trucking, fleet operations, and cross-border ventures into the U.S. considered an asset.

Overview:

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority for profitability.
• Ensure regulatory compliance through adherence to underwriting guidelines and best practices.
• Provide recommendations to increase a profitable book of business and support underwriters team with complex accounts.
• ·Contribute insights to management, conduct stakeholder meetings, and participate in special projects.
