The Commercial Operations - Lead will be responsible for responsible for managing and administering complex commercial operating agreements, budgets and forecasts. The individual will be responsible for planning, executing, reporting, and managing the efficient movement of commodities on existing assets and leading commercial activities associated with ATCO’s operating non-rate regulated energy infrastructure assets. Commercial operating assets include Hydrocarbon Storage and Transportation, Industrial water, Renewables, Carbon sequestration and Hydrogen production and fueling. The role reports to, and will closely liaise with, the Senior Manager – Business Development and Commercial Operations to set priorities and allocate resources to manage workload to meet deadlines.

What You Get To Do:

  • Responsible for commercial operations activities across a portfolio of assets, including the management, optimization and administration of all commercial arrangements and partnerships/joint ventures;
  • Lead in collaboration and consultation with stakeholders such as Operations and Business Development, to identify areas of opportunity to improve operations and relationships with customers; promoting Transparent and timely communication;
  • Promote, observe, and influence to ensure that the business meets or exceeds all applicable environmental and regulatory requirements;
  • Responsible for accurate preparation and securing timely approvals of customer and partner budgets; work with internal teams to build and update forecasts.
  • Motivate team to identify and execute on asset management and optimization opportunities;
  • Steer the advancement of scheduling and logistics activities.
  • Focus on developing and maintaining an elevated level of customer service both internally and externally to facilitate oversight of day-to-day activities, customer audits and dispute resolutions;
  • Stay abreast of industry activity and new market practices and trends and communicate the information such that ATCO Energy Infrastructure proactively adapts its business;
  • Lead the team through customer contract lifecycle, including administration, management, renewal, and reporting.
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure proper customer budgeting and billing based on existing contracts;

Who You Are:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business, Legal or Finance.
  • 10+ years of experience in the energy industry
  • Team player ability to work with diverse and high performing teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with business partners, customers and stakeholders
  • Prior experience negotiating, monitoring and managing formal agreements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong customer focus and outstanding customer service skills
  • Highly effective organization skills and attention to detail
