The Cloud Engineer is responsible for building, continuous monitoring, deploying, and supporting a variety of Nakisa’s applications in the cloud. The ideal candidate will provide subject matter expertise to support system operations services to both internal and external clients in the development, QA, and production environment.

As a Cloud Engineer at Nakisa, you will set-up, monitor, and manage a variety of Cloud application environments running on Linux servers, using multiple cloud vendors such as AWS and Azure, managing Kubernetes clusters and deployments across multiple regions. You will be responsible for operations, automation of repetitive operational tasks, providing technical support for mission-critical systems, and maintaining their recovery in case of any failures.

You take personal ownership and pride over the critical systems managed by you. Save the day when needed but most importantly anticipate and prevent disasters in the first place. You have the knowledge to create pipelines for build-management and deployments, and proficient in understanding container-based and cloud-native software services as well as JAVA servers.

Responsibilities

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in Python, Ansible, Puppet, Docker, Docker-Compose, Git, DevOps, Linux, Networking, Cloud, REST, SSO, ELK, Network Isolation strategies, web-security, and DBMS management.
  • Communication and collaboration skills will be of paramount importance in your position. Effective and quick response time to all issues are expected, as are excellent analytical, problem-solving, time-management skills, and an awareness of laws regarding data governance and protection.
  • The Cloud Engineer documents all reported issues, build recipes for actions performed in response to issues and maintain the records for compliance reasons.
  • Proficient in system thinking, anticipating side effects, and effective use of strategies to provide workarounds to reduce severities of incidents.
  • Desire to automate repetitive operational work.

Qualifications

  • +4 years managing and supporting Cloud for mission-critical, scalable, cloud applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Experience with monitoring, automation of repetitive tasks, and pipelines.
  • Experience in various DBMS, ERP, and cloud-native software management.

Good to Have

  • Experience with microservices, Helm, Istio.
  • Experience with Web application servers and frameworks such as Tomcat NodeJS.
  • Experience in JAVA programming.
  • Knowledge of Sock II, GDPR, and data protection compliance.
