CloudBookkeeper – Team Leader

(Full-time Remote)

Our client is a well-established cloud bookkeeping practice seeking a Bookkeeping Manager to oversee and lead a small team of remote bookkeepers. Ideally, you are seasoned cloud accounting professional with a knack for leadership and a passion for meticulous financial management.

We provide full-cycle bookkeeping services to our incorporated clients. This includes:

  • Data validation/verification, maintain general ledger
  • Reconciliations and month end journal entries
  • Compliance Returns and filing (HST, GST, PST, Payroll, Workers Comp)
  • Financial Reporting and analysis
  • Yearend preparation and coordination with Tax Accountants

What You Will Do

  • Conduct reviews of financial files, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, summaries, and analysis to senior management, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Engage with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide financial expertise, cultivating strong, lasting relationships.
  • Regularly evaluating processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as audit, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless business processes and compliance.
  • Monitor activities to identify potential risks, implement internal controls, and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current with the latest accounting regulations, trends, and technologies to enhance personal and team skills.

What You Bring

  • Senior level experience: minimum 5-years progressive experience in full-cycle paperless bookkeeping including payroll
  • Minimum 1-year supervising or managing a team
  • Prior experience working in an accounting or bookkeeping practice required (minimum 2-years)
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a relevant field
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
  • QBO Advanced Certified (minimum 1-year job experience)
  • Preference given to candidates living in, or adjacent to, the Central Time Zone
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada, must reside in Canada
