Your Opportunity:Description:As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. Successful completion of a perioperative certification course. Ability to perform full duties of an operating room staff nurse as required. 3 years recent experience in PACU/Critical Care. - Combination of Education and experience can be considered. ACLS certified. Previous teaching/staff development and leadership experience. Knowledge of Adult Learning principles. Demonstrated ability to promote effective change management. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. Demonstrated networking skills both within and outside of Surgical Services. Demonstrated commitment to continual learning and professional development. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, decision making ability, and strong organizational skills. Advanced problem-solving skills, integrating critical thinking skills and good judgment in a highly organized, rapid moving and complex environment.Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. CNA certification in the Operating Room an asset. Perioperative Course educator training/experience. Courses in adult education. Demonstrated commitment to patient/staff safety initiatives including Briefing and Debriefing Simulations. PALS certification. Professional membership with ORNAC. Proven ability to apply critical analysis in critical PACU environment. Advanced nursing competencies including PCA/PCEA and CVC. Endoscopy experience.
