POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Journeyman trade certification, engineering technologist, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3 – 5 years of plant Civil construction/maintenance project supervisory experience
  • Understand blue prints, P&ID’s, specifications and QA/QC requirements
  • High degree of safety awareness and a commitment to safety
  • Knowledgeable of OH&S and Employment Standards and application
  • Knowledgeable of Ground Disturbance standards and applications
  • Knowledgeable of equipment use and operation
  • Demonstrated supervisory and administrative skill-set
  • Capable of planning and organizing work activities in a cost effective and efficient manner
  • Maintain relations with client and coworkers through effective communication conflict management skills
  • Proficient computer skills, able to meet requirements of client systems
  • Able to meet requirements of Physical Demands Analysis
  • Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test
  • Training: CSTS, H2S Alive, First Aid (CPR), Fall Arrest, and Confined Space


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure project work is executed in a safe, productive environment with equal consideration to quality and cost
  • Champion, mentor and instill positive safety culture while administering Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
  • Ensure appropriate pre-job Tool Box meetings and PTA cards are included as part of each job/task
  • Ensure correct job scope and material requirements and communicate receipt of material deliveries/delays for work scheduling – ensure all activity paperwork flows correctly
  • Collaborate with General Foreman and planner on task-planning and communicate task-lists and assignments
  • Manage daily time-ticket process & monitor and report on established deliverables
  • Ensure crews understand responsibilities, expectations & specific tasks pertaining to safety and work execution
  • Conduct regular worksite inspections to monitor workmanship and safety compliance
  • Ensure direct reports are competent
  • Assign workload to personnel within area of responsibility
  • Delivery of practical application of Health, Safety, and Environment management system
  • Deliver of practical application of Quality management system
