Guide Engineering is currently seeking a senior civil engineering technologist / Intermediate Civil Engineer for our team to take a leadership role in establishing our CAD standards, perform drawing reviews and train junior staff. As the senior civil engineering technologist, you will be primarily working from our Chilliwack office. You will be designing alongside our team in land development and municipal capital works projects throughout Canada. You will be primarily responsible for civil design, drafting (Civil 3D), and assisting with Project Management.

Experience conducting field reviews is an asset as you will be required at times to ensure construction activity is following the intended design, acting as the engineer’s field representative and reporting to the project engineer or senior field service manager.

Responsibilities:

• Civil engineering design and project management support;

• Liaising and interacting with clients, contractors, and municipalities;

• Conduct Field Reviews;

• Prepare Civil Engineering drawings for various land development and capital projects

• Prepare tender documents based MMCD standards

• Take the lead on preparation of the drawings with direct supervision of Professional Engineer

• Work with Engineers on regular basis and implement their inputs on various drawings

Experience:

• 10-15 years civil engineering design and drafting experience;

• Proficient in Civil3D various aspects such grading design, pipe network design

• Follow relevant bylaws and codes, and apply as required to the civil design;

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments;

• Perform Road designs along with stormwater, potable water and sanitary sewage calculations;

• Coordinate civil design with other disciplines: mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, structural etc.;

• Project coordination, contract administration and tendering process skills are an asset; and

• Valid BC driver’s license and vehicle

Education and Training:

• Additional AutoCAD training or GIS software is an asset

• The technologist must be registered with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) and will be supervised by a professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in BC

• Engineer has to be registered with EGBC and in good standing
