About the Opportunity

The Outpatient Psychiatry Team of five is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join them. The successful candidate will provide direct clinical psychiatric outpatient care for children and adolescents as well as emergency department services in conjunction with the crisis team. The office will be based in the Chipman Building in Kentville.

Responsibilities

  • provide care to outpatient clinic for patients under the age of 19
  • participate in program development, like the behaviour disorders and early psychosis intensive program
  • offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics
  • contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
  • contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned

Expected Hours

  • full time

Qualifications

  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
