Job Description

The Global Advanced Product Support Specialist provides technical product support and training to sales teams and customers globally for the Advanced Equipment and related Software. (OmniScan MX1s,MS5800, Multiview, TubePro, etc.) Olympus Scientific Solutions Americas NDT product lines.

Job Duties

  • Achieve a comprehensive understanding of the operation and applications of Olympus eddy current and related technologies and accessories while continuing the learning as new products are beingdeveloped.
  • Provide high level NDT technical support to manufacturing business center (MBC) personnel, sales business center (SBC) personnel, and external customers as required.
  • Identify unique application solutions to maintain and increase Olympus’ cutting-edge technology specific to market segments and regions.
  • Support regional technical specialists and support staff through live and/or virtual training.
  • Train customers on Olympus products to raise their level of expertise.
  • Support the product development team during customer application evaluations.
  • Help in developing and conducting training and materials in concert with the Global Training
  • Coordinator and Upstream Product Management team as well as implement programs for customers, salesmen, and in-house staff.
  • Travel to customer sites for evaluations, probability of detection studies and testing.
  • Stays active and aware in ASNT, committee work and code activities as applicable. As needed be in attendance, contribute and report back on code committee meeting updates, implementations & notable actions.
  • Review, train and advise Training Associates as well review program content.
  • Facilitate and promote uniformity across technologies and/or product demonstration methodologies across all regions as applicable.
  • Participate in trade, technical and educational seminars and events including authoring and presenting white papers, WebExes and Webinars.
  • Collaborate with multiple business departments, including commercial operations, outside sales, and marketing/communications to complete daily tasks · Participate in technology working groups along with M-BC, S-BC, and Upstream Product Management to deliver direct and VOC feedback to the group helping to shape the PRM
  • Support and work closely with BDM’s and Senior Technology leaders in Downstream Market (DSM) efforts and initiative
  • Other activities as assigned by the Management team

Job Requirements

Education and experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience preferably in an NDT position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or relevant work experience

Essential knowledge, skills and ability:

  • Strong knowledge of eddy current and related technologies and products
  • Comprehension of the science and technology of NDT methods
  • Strong analytical skills to make recommendations to external customers, product development and sales teams
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and use new business and technical software
  • Ability to travel globally up to 70%
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as an individual or in a team setting
  • Proficient in NDT related software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
