One of our client in Woodbridge,ONis looking for a CAD Designer/Engineer

for their facility.

Shift - Days

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with Program Managers and Product Engineers on product designs and review technical inquiries from customers
  • Provide consultation on standard product manufacturing, ease of assembly and benchmarking
  • Perform packaging, conceptual and feasibility studies
  • Create 2D drawings for Tier 2 suppliers
  • Synthesize and analyze linkages/mechanisms that provide desired functionality
  • Check detail component and assembly drawings prepared by detailers for correct tolerancing, dimensioning, and material specifications
  • Understand and follow customer and standards for drawings (Part Numbering and Revision Levels) and CAD models (Colours, Layers etc.) proficient at maintaining data control
  • Prepare CAD models and drawings for customers and engineering presentations as required
  • Prepare and track translated files for prototype and Tier 2 suppliers
  • Manage document control and transmittal activities with customers and suppliers
  • Aid in Math Data/CAD Control by maintaining proper organization of CAD files, archives old versions of models and unnecessary files to keep disk usage at minimum
  • Update both model and drawings with engineering changes
  • Track hours spent by project number and activity
  • Improve speed and quality of designs and continuously improves a general knowledge of tools used in design computer software and hardware through benchmarking and participating in training courses
  • Make recommendations to improve organization and quality of work in design department
  • Prepare presentations materials for Sales and Marketing.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Quality System and Business Operating Procedures.
  • Perform duties in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) or recognized equivalent
  • Formal training in Computer Aided Design and/or 5 years of Product Design and Drafting work experience in suitable mechanical engineering field
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of Kinematics
  • Working knowledge of CATIA, IGES. NX / UG, IDEAS
  • Ability to quickly learn other CAD applications / software
  • Working knowledge of DFA, DFM
  • Excellent drafting and drawing creation skills
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and production methods of high volume electro-mechanical systems
  • Maintain a valid passport and flexible to travel to customer sites in North America and abroad
