As a Business Analytics Student within the Strategy and Data Analytics team, you will be primarily responsible for developing advanced Power BI and Spotfire dashboards that support the Workplace & Real Estate department. You will work closely with collaborators to understand the business requirements and develop data models, metrics, and visualizations that support data-informed decision-making. Database development, data wrangling, and automation will also be part of this role’s responsibilities. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain advanced, value-add Power BI and Spotfire dashboards
  • Wrangle data from multiple (internal and external) sources
  • Ensure Cenovus data governance standards are closely adhered to
  • Establish and automate business reporting, including key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Train non-technical end users how to use analytics solutions
  • Produce ad-hoc reports that effectively communicate data-informed insights to users from a variety of audiences
  • Independently perform exploratory data analysis and develop visualizations to highlight trends and patterns that support decision-making
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements through automation and data delivery optimization
Qualifications
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation (e.g., work visa)
  • Available to begin work in September 2023
Education
  • Currently enrolled in a Business Analytics, Analytics, or Data Science undergraduate, masters, or Ph. D. program or a related program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Attached copies of transcripts
Skills / Competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including advanced features like DAX measures, Power Query Editor, and publishing apps
  • Proficient in programming languages including but not limited to SQL, Python, and R
  • Understanding of database structure and best practices
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent collaboration and team skills as well as the ability to work independently
  • Must be curious, creative, and a critical thinker
