Summary:

St. Joseph Communications is Canada’s largest privately owned communications company with three integrated platforms in Content, Print and Media.

Patron Studio, the branded content arm of SJC Media, is looking for a designer to help lead the creation of branded content across SJC Media and its highly respected publishing brands. This role entails working primarily within the branded content team but will also liaise with the sales, project management and editorial teams.

The successful candidate must be creative and collaborative, as well as organized and detail-oriented. They will keep up with design trends and the latest social media platform updates. They should demonstrate initiative, have the ability to manage competing priorities, and work well with cross-functional teams within a fast-paced environment. In this role you will:

  • Support the pitching and creation of branded content
  • Create fast-turnaround mocks for print, digital, social and video across our brands
  • Execute creative strategy and ideation for sold branded content executions
  • Hire and manage visual artists like illustrators, photographers and other designers
  • Create full suite of visual assets for a branded content campaign, from print layouts to digital destination design to social media cards to newsletter graphics
  • May be required to art-direct a photo or video shoot on set

And a bit about yourself:

  • A degree or diploma in a related business, design, media or marketing program
  • 3+ years experience working in a design capacity
  • High proficiency in Powerpoint and Google Slides
  • Strong listening skills, ability to take feedback and make sound design decisions
  • You are positive, a strong communicator and can talk to new people
  • Ability to prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Proficient with image asset creation tools like Photoshop and InDesign
  • A keen interest in Media Publishing & Marketing landscape
  • Strong presentation-building skills a plus
  • Ceros experience a plus
