Our team is growing, and Marcon Metalfab (www.marconmetal.com) is hiring an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our dynamic team based in Delta’s Tilbury Park.
For over 30 years, Marcon Metalfab has supplied custom fabricated steel and rubber products required for infrastructure, and other projects in the transportation, building construction, utilities, mining, marine, oil, and gas sectors. About the Position:

Shift:Monday to Thursday (10 Hour Shift) - 5:00am to 3:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare jobs.
  • Create layouts.
  • Read, analyze and interpret shop drawings.
  • Fabrication and forming of mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Safely rig components for lifting.
  • Assure the quality of work produced is acceptable to company standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience operating a CNC machine brake press.
  • 235-ton accurpress that uses vision control software and/or 400-ton Mitsubishi, 40040 diamond elite are the machines we have.
  • Excellent understanding of steel fabrication techniques as well as steel grades and shapes.
  • Must be able to calculate stretch outs as well as selecting proper dies.
  • Must be able to work in imperial and metric.
  • Must be able to use a Vernier Caliper working to very tight tolerances.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret shop drawings.
  • Experience maximizing the utilization of materials and minimize waste of materials.
  • Basic computer skills required to use the in-house job board.
  • Clear communication written and spoken English.
  • Ability to stand for long hours (lots of bending is required).
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
