Your responsibilitiesThe Credit Supervisor has the responsibility for the activities that relate to the company’s investment in accounts receivable both from a quantity and quality standpoint.
Job Requirements
- Maintains responsibility for applying the company’s credit and collection policies, practices and procedures to the credit requirements of the
- Establishing credit lines (within guidelines provided for the region)
- Including credit checking using credit reporting agencies and other means available
- Review of financial statements
- Customer visitations
- Establish terms of payment
- Provide effective collections of accounts receivable
- Monitor sales orders for credit worthiness on a timely basis
- Communication with other departments on a regular basis on the status of the receivables portfolio
- Maintain a positive relationship with inside/outside sales staff
- Monitor and report to management on credit risk accounts
- Coordinate with sales department for effective collections
- Review all specialty item inventory purchases to insure credit worthiness of the customer
- Involved in the resolution of disputes with customers as they impact the receivables
- Involved with sales tax issues as they relate to customer invoices and tax audits
- Provide interface with third party collectors when required
- Represent the company in credit industry trade groups
- Review, analysis and recommendation of bad debt write offs
- Review and recommend any accounts receivable associated reserves for the region
- Review and consult with corporate Director of Credit for advice and approval on complex problems, high risk accounts and higher credit limits
- Responsible to hire, train arid supervise and to include employee compensation
Your profile
- Graduate degree in business or finance required
- 3-5 years of Commercial Credit w/Supervisory Experience
- General computer skills (MS Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Bilingual French & English
