Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a BidMan Analyst – (Marketing) to join our team. This position is based at our Head office in Burlington, Ontario.

Position Overview

The Bid Manager software platform is a critical system to Eaton’s commercial and operation stakeholders. The Bid Manager Analyst will be responsible for partnering with the product managers and sales to improve, advance and maintain the Bid Manager takeoffs, functionality, and data related for all Eaton products in Canada. The role plays an integral role for creation and deployment of pricing strategies for Eaton Canada. The Bid Manager Analyst will also learn the products’ features and functions to be able to competently maintain the Bid Manager takeoff throughout the product’s life cycle.

In This Function You Will
  • Partner with product managers and plants to learn the products that are configured in Bid Manager
  • Collaborate with the IT Business Relationship Manager, external resources, and stakeholders to learn engage the IT infrastructure support for Bid Manager to execute the Canadian bid manager strategy
  • Act as the key point of contact for the Bid Manager team in the US; creates detailed specs related to required function and feature changes; communicates changes as required
  • Develop, deliver, and support training initiatives related to understanding and using the Bid Manager application and data. Acts as a resource to answer questions related to the functionality of Bid Manager
  • Gather Voice of Customer by partnering with Product managers and sales to understand the usage and pain points related to bid manager. Subsequently create a portfolio of projects to advance Bid manager
  • Participate in the new product development process by implementing changes to tables (product and pricing data) and rules within Bid Manager; ensures functional alignment with the US
  • Write requirement notes for the Bid Manager take-offs in partnership with marketing
  • Configure, test, launch the bid manager takeoffs by updating the pick table rules
  • Drive standardization in designing list prices for Engineer To Order and shelf products
  • Elevate the broader understanding of stakeholders (sales, marketing, channel, operations) on functionality of Bid Manager
  • Learn pick development (specific to Bid Manager software) to maintain the take-offs specific to different product groups
  • Utilize Bid Manager software application knowledge to identify and define application requirements for specified product lines
  • Identify Bid Manager improvement and enhancement activities that are required to align Bid Manager with other applications and tools; coordinates activities with cross-functional teams to implement changes as required
  • Provide leadership on Bid Manager maintenance activities. Coordinates activities to ensure that the Canadian Bid Manager application is aligned and functional with versions /data used in other countries (USA, Mexico, Costa Rica)
  • Provide Bid Manager support to all of Eaton Canada in the form of inputting and maintaining product-line data, tables, and rules. Provides support in extracting data from the application
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • University Degree or College Diploma, in a technical field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years’ prior experience with electrical products
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation provided
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Electrical Technician, Electrical or Mechanical Technician or Technologist designation; electrical background preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with electrical products
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using configuration or pricing platform
  • Experience using at least one programming language (Python, VB, or C++)

  • Strong MS Office skills; PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
