General Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Baby and Toddler Music Teacher to join our team and enrich the lives of young children through the magic of music. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging music lessons tailored to infants and toddlers aged 0-4 years old. Your primary focus will be to foster a love for music while promoting essential developmental skills in a fun and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate music lessons and activities for infants and toddlers, incorporating elements of rhythm, melody, movement, and sensory exploration.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere where children feel encouraged to participate and express themselves through music.
  • Integrate early childhood development principles into music programming, emphasizing the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical benefits of musical engagement for young children.
  • Utilize a variety of musical instruments, props, and resources to enhance learning experiences and stimulate sensory awareness.
  • Foster positive relationships with children and their caregivers, providing support and guidance as they explore and discover the joys of music together.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff members to coordinate interdisciplinary activities and promote holistic child development.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of music lessons, adjusting content and approaches as needed to meet the evolving needs and interests of the children.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to clear a criminal/police background check with vulnerable sector search provided by Imagine Music Inc.
  • Be willing to sign a minimum one year contract
  • Maintain client/teacher professionalism and confidentiality
  • Be able to follow procedures and policies set by Imagine Music Inc.
  • Reside in Northwest Calgary or able to travel to NorthWest Calgary to teach classes

Qualifications:

  • A strong background in music, including formal training and proficiency in playing musical instruments.
  • Involvement in the music community is an asset (performance, volunteering, gigs, etc.)
  • Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or childcare setting, with a deep understanding of early childhood development.

  • Imagine Music Inc. will establish clear and defined policies for teachers and students.
  • Imagine Music Inc. offers teacher flexibility for scheduling. Teachers may set their own hours and lay out their own teaching schedules.
  • Imagine Music Inc. provides two recitals a year, both for adults and the younger students. Recitals are well organized, non-competitive, fun and include a variety of instruments and styles. Teachers are also given the opportunity to perform solo or in teacher groups.
  • Imagine Music Inc. follows a bi-monthly payroll system with direct deposit into teacher’s bank accounts
  • Teachers enjoy the benefits of self-employment as they are contracted by Imagine Music Inc.
