Purpose:

As an Associate on the trading desk, you will have primary responsibility for running a derivatives trading book under the oversight of a senior trader. Your risk, and responsibility, will grow commensurate with your expertise, experience, and record. This may include trading flat price, basis, and/or volatility strategies across the spectrum of products from NGLs, to Refined products, to Crude Oil. You will be required to support traders on the desk with general day to day tasks, and sales with market commentary, pricing and trade ideas.


What You’ll Do:

  • Provide a deep fundamental knowledge of Oil & Refined Product markets
  • Provide derivatives competency in both commodity and non-commodity risk
  • Collaborate with sales to drive idea generation, provide market commentary, and support client needs
  • Provide fast, competitive pricing of derivative structures, manage portfolio risks, and drive revenue as a market maker in multiple commodities


What You’ll Bring:

  • University degree, or equivalent. Finance, or STEM program preferred. CFA designation an asset
  • This role requires successful completion of the NFA Swap proficiency requirement prior to engaging in in-scope activity
  • Technical experience (preferred VBA, python, SQL, Microsoft office suite)
  • Experience with Bloomberg, TT, ICE, CME Direct, etc.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing demands
  • While the successful candidate will receive extensive on the job mentorship, 1-3 years experience in trading, market fundamentals, or risk management is preferred


Work Arrangement:

This position is currently an on-site role, with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
