Position Summary The Associate Medical Director is focused on bringing support to patients and organizations related to the provinces of Canada. Teladoc Health Canada supports patients through several service areas, including general telehealth services, expert medical services, and mental health services as well as by bringing support to hospitals and health systems. Physician engagement, quality and patient safety are crucial to all of these. Reporting to the national and deputy medical directors, an associate medical director brings focused attention to specific service areas with a shared responsibility for matters pertaining to clinical quality and patient safety (including cultural safety), clinician wellness and health equity (bringing attention to issues faced by rural Canadians and underserved populations, particularly indigenous communities). Associate medical directors thus provide medical leadership and guidance, ensuring the overall clinical framework is compliant in the stated service area. This position oversees and supports a growing team of physicians and other clinicians. Role and Responsibilities Align work goals with those of Teladoc Health’s strategic short-, medium- and long-term plan for Canada; Assist with recruitment and training of clinical network Provide clinical oversight of medical work in specified service area(s) Support physician case management, as required Conduct audits and engage in clinical quality discussions, as required Ensure clinical governance standards are maintained Bring medical advice and feedback to development and continuous improvement of service areas(s) Participate in client presentations and sales meetings, as required Develop, review and apply quality control policies and standards for specified service area(s) Engage with other medical directors and/or international medical committees, as required Provide medical advice and feedback during development of medical services and programs Develop relationships with regional hospitals, health systems, and relevant associations and entities Other activities, as reasonably requested Skill Requirements/Preferences Current and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner in a Province in Canada Must currently reside in one of the Canadian provinces Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent Current and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner in Canada (in good standing) Certificant or Fellow of CFPC, or Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of Canada Experience and demonstrated success leading large clinical teams Experience and demonstrated strength of establishing relationships across the public health sector Experience of successfully working in a dyad model preferred Experience working in the digital health sector preferred Why Join Teladoc Health?
