What You’ll Do


  • Manages the execution of triage assessments, client profile creation and/or client profile de-duplication and closure in Fenergo and source systems
  • Develops and documents investigation and data resolution procedures in line with GBM’s client focus model and risk management framework, in coordination with business-as-usual (new client intake) teams and leveraging lessons learned and best practices from other project streams
  • Reviews, challenges and refines projections on the completion rate of the various streams by each of their target completion dates, incorporating file volume, work effort and resource capacity
  • Coordinates with Front Office stakeholders to ensure a smooth client experience where client contact and outreach may be required as part of the data resolution process
  • Identifies opportunities to coordinate with other remediation / onboarding / offboarding / PR initiatives regarding client touchpoints completion of overlapping clients for review
  • Ensures production and quality standards are met in all files produced by the team, including monitoring and reporting on productivity output and quality trends against target projections
  • Drives towards counterparty data clean-up of obsolete and inactive client accounts
  • Understands and accounts for the impact of updated client data in the downstream operational systems, such as trade reporting, portfolio reconciliation, collateral management, etc.
  • Identifies and mitigates overall project risks and roadblocks, as well as manages project scope and constraints (population volume, timing of efforts, resource capacity), escalating where required
  • Prepares periodic (daily/weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) and ad hoc reporting to stakeholders
  • Supports the strategic process and technology enhancements, especially in order to stop future breaks at the source through improved processes and controls for business-as-usual teams
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand the GBM client population for resolution, coordination between various project streams and actions required to resolve identified breaks and/or uplift client files to KYC and/or derivative regulatory requirements
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing team succession and development planning


What You’ll Bring


  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the management of large-scale remediations or other regulatory projects in the financial services industry
  • Understanding of capital market operations and trade lifecycle expertise, and familiarity with the corporate and investment banking business
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements applicable to bank clients, including KYC/AML regulations and various derivative regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with systems supporting the GBM customer life cycle
  • Strong project management, planning and organization skills


Work Arrangement:
This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
