Dufferin Construction is one of the largest heavy civil engineering contractors in the industry, employing over 1000 people. Dufferin Construction, a division of CRH Canada is looking for a Project Superintendent to join the team for projects located out of the Northeast Ontario area.

You will be a successful addition to Dufferin Construction if you:
  • Have 10+ years of proven experience within the Municipal Civil Market.
  • Like to work independently, plan, schedule and manage projects for the construction and/or repair of civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, sewers and watermains.
  • A minimum of 5 years as a leader who can successfully manage Civil projects and various levels of skilled workers all the while adhering to policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Administer company safety program as per current procedures.
  • Mobilize and direct the resources assigned in order to achieve maximum contribution to fixed costs and profits.
  • Establish and monitor construction work schedules.
  • Allocate work to and supervise the activities of all foremen assigned to the project.
  • Accurately forecasts financial status of assigned projects.
  • Maintain overall inventory control of all materials, plants and equipment assigned to the project.
  • Coordinate the administration of contracts in conjunction with the Estimator/ Project Coordinator.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Prepare all reporting as per current procedures.
  • Hire competent, skilled trades people as per current procedures.
  • Provide training and development activities to subordinates to meet the requirements of the company.
  • Delegate but still maintain overall responsibilities and accountability of the project.
  • Lead team to promote positive work environment.
Experience & Educational Requirements
  • University degree in civil engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma.
  • Municipal Project experience (high project load) is an asset.
