A little about the role:

Reporting to the Manager Loss Prevention, the Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for protecting the Company’s assets and improving profitability by assisting the Loss Prevention management team with recovery efforts and driving compliance in relation to asset recovery for all programs. Additionally, the Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the creation of process, policy documents, workflows and identifying any potential process gaps for improvement.

What you’re responsible for:

  • Manage all aspects of the recovery plan for all programs to minimize losses
  • Drive compliance, recovery efforts in relation to all company programs
  • Liaise with Human Resources, Information Technology and our Sales Field Teams to improve and support recovery efforts in relation to OSL Owned Equipment
  • Assist Management team with creating process, policy documentation to improve asset management recovery efforts for applicable programs
  • Identify gaps in our workflows to improve recovery efforts when necessary
  • Create and manage asset management registers for all OSL owned equipment
  • Work with our Learning team to create training material to improve the education of asset management for all head office and field staff
  • Conduct periodic audits with head office and field staff of OSL owned equipment to improve accuracy in reporting and tracking
  • Act as a primary point of contact for other departments in relation to asset management
  • Work with Loss Prevention Management to track and meet specific KPIs, drive compliance with all departments involved in the recovery plan
  • This role may involve assisting the Loss Prevention Manager or Director with ad hoc tasks/projects
  • This role may evolve to include the ordering, maintaining, and managing inventory of locks, keys and other security measures

What you bring to the table:

  • College or university degree
  • Minimum two years working experience in a data management related field or with asset inventory and documentation
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines is a must
  • Excellent problem resolution, leadership and interpersonal skills are required to excel in this team-based work environment
  • Possess strong ability to present new ideas and initiatives to senior management in order to gain support and buy-in supporting the overall success of the business.
  • MS Office proficiency is mandatory in all applications – Excel, Access, Word, PPT – etc.
  • Strong Retail Operations background with Sales and Loss Prevention experience in wireless/electronics retail would be an asset
  • Bilingual in French would be an asset
