Job Description

The Analyst, Engineering and Technology working independently as part of a regional based team, is the primary resource for the deployment and support of IT Equipment at processing plants, retail outlets and administration offices for Canada Post, its Business Partners, and customers.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Analyst, Engineering and Technology.
  • Provides end-to-end technical support to clients and other technical Canada Post groups and/or contractors to ensure that the equipment performs to specifications.
  • Facilitates the resolution of computing and communications problems, acting as second level support.
  • Supports end users in the day-to-day use of Canada Post computing and communications equipment.
  • Plans, schedules and deploys IT solutions (installations, relocations, removals, changes) with clients, contractors and/or Canada Post staff.
  • Participates in projects as computing and communications lead or leads IT projects directly as assigned.
Job Responsibilities (continued)
  • Works to ensure high availability of IT network and infrastructure through pro-active analysis of historical performance. Identifies enhancement and cost-saving opportunities and recommends improvements. Procures and ensures installment.
  • Delivers general IT support, such as participating in the testing or piloting of new or updated technology, interpreting IT policies and procedures, and responding to technical queries such as equipment documentation, procedures or system functionality.
  • Collaborates with IT colleagues on major projects, by sharing locally developed tools, solutions or problem-solving strategies.
  • Maintains awareness of “State of the Art” technologies applied in an IT environment and an understanding of the future system requirements in order to foresee the changes required to meet the needs of evolving business and technologies.
Qualifications

Education
  • A University or college degree/diploma in a related field.
  • Designation and or certifications may be required.
Experience
  • 2-5 years of related work experience is required.
Other Candidate Requirements
  • Ability to identify technology solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Skilled at writing professional technical business documents.
