AltaGas - Sr. Scheduler, Logistics
AltaGas is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Senior Scheduler, Logistics role. Reporting to the Team Lead, Rail Transportation - Export, the successful candidate will provide support to the rail logistics team for managing product movements of LPG’s. This person will require strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills while working with a high performing team of schedulers, marketers, and analysts. The successful candidate will have experience in rail logistics.
You Will:
  • Support day-to-day scheduling of NGL products via rail between origin and destinations across North America
  • Communicate regularly with operations to ensure transportation needs are aligned with operational activities and production levels
  • Work collaboratively with commercial and operations teams to plan and execute product movements in the best interest of organization execution and margin optimization
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our customers and partners
  • Develop and monitoring KPIs relating to NGL movements (i.e., fleet utilization, cycle times, dwell times, etc.)
  • Support and manage service levels with Class 1 railroads to maximize product movement and mitigate optional service charges
  • Work closely with accounting, finance, and Class 1 railroads to ensure accurate invoicing and payment
You Have:
  • Post-Secondary degree
  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in a related role with focus on rail movements in North America
  • Previous experience collaborating with Class 1 railroads
  • Knowledge of the NGL industry and supply/demand
  • Previous experience in railcar maintenance and subleasing preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting rail industry and NGLs would be an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated individual able to contribute both individually and as a team player with multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
