The Office of the Registrar – Admissions and Recruitment is offering a challenging opportunity for an administrative support officer. The position offers applicants an opportunity to work in a fast-paced professional environment at one of Ontario’s largest post-secondary institutions. The successful candidate will be encouraged to proactively contribute as part of a team, work closely with managers and recruitment staff, assist in the day-to-day operations of the Student Recruitment Office, and play a leadership role in Sheridan’s Student Admission Representatives (STARs) and tour programs.

What You’ll be Doing

Overseeing the daily campus tour program, including responding to tour requests, coordinating and confirming appointments, monitoring tour frequency, and analyzing data;

Assisting in the recruitment, scheduling, communication and payroll of all student workers;

Assisting in the planning of, and participating in, all student recruitment special events both on-and off-campus;

Receiving and forwarding telephone or in-person inquiries, effectively communicating with several internal departments, and providing general information to clients and the public;

Maintaining and updating manual or computerized filing, inventory, mailing and database systems;

Performing routine administrative functions in a confidential and professional manner;

Other duties as assigned.

About You

You have excellent oral and written communication skills.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks and can prioritize multiple projects while staying organized and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

You enjoy working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment .

You use your interpersonal skills to build working relationships and provide excellent customer service .

The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following:
2-year diploma in Social Sciences, Business, Public Relations, or a related field with a minimum of 1-year practical experience in an educational, customer service or business environment. Equivalency will be considered.

Other Details

Campus Location: Trafalgar (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position is currently working remotely.

Hourly Rate: $20.78 + 4% in lieu of benefits and vacation

Hours/Week: 24

Hours: Flexible; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 10 am – 4:30 p.m.; Thursdays: 12pm to 4:30pm, may include one Saturday/month (confirmed on hire)
